As we reflect on 2025, I am filled with deep gratitude and renewed hope for the future of Wakulima USA. This year has marked a significant milestone in our organization’s journey, one defined by growth, resilience, and collective impact.
One of our greatest achievements in 2025 is the acquisition of our own farm through the Conservation Futures Program. This accomplishment represents more than land ownership; it is a permanent home for our mission, a space where sustainable agriculture, community empowerment, and cultural connection can thrive for generations to come. Owning our farm strengthens our long-term vision and affirms our commitment to food sovereignty and environmental stewardship.
We are also proud of the expansion of our Wellness and Mental Health Programs in
Pierce County. These programs have continued to address critical community needs,
providing culturally responsive support, healing spaces, and resources that promote
holistic well-being. The impact we are seeing reminds us that wellness; mental,
physical, and social is foundational to strong and resilient communities.
None of these successes would have been possible without the unwavering support of
our partners, supporters, and funders. Your belief in our mission and your willingness
to walk alongside us has been instrumental in turning vision into reality. I would also like
to extend my heartfelt appreciation to our dedicated Staff and Board of Directors,
whose leadership, guidance, and commitment continue to strengthen the organization
during times of growth and transition.
Like many organizations, Wakulima USA has faced challenges this year, offering an
opportunity for reflection, learning, and growth. We are confident and hopeful about the
new direction we are taking, one grounded in transparency, collaboration, and a
renewed commitment to our core mission and values.
As we look ahead, we invite our partners, friends, and community members to continue
standing with us. Your donations and support are critical to sustaining our programs,
stewarding our new farm, and expanding our impact across the communities we serve.
Together, we can build a healthier, more equitable future.
Thank you for your continued trust, partnership, and belief in the work of Wakulima USA.
Wishing you a joyful holiday season and a happy New Year.
With gratitude and hope,
Dr. David Bulindah,
President, Wakulima USA.
